Whether you have sensitive skin, combination skin or dry skin, taking care of it, always seems a herculean task. Take it from some one who has extremely sensitive skin, prone to acne and dark spots. I have tried countless products, paid copious visits to the dermatologist and spent hundreds and thousands of rupees; all for a rather temporary remedy. I have even tried herbal medication, which to no one’s surprise did not work either; leading me to eventually give up and accept my deteriorating skin.
It was only a few weeks ago, that I decided to give my skin, one last try-literally. I had heard from many people, that this one ingredient will end all your skin woes: this one ingredient is the answer to all your prayers. After all, the timeless beauty Queen was an avid user of this ingredient as well. So I decided to give it a shot. Yes, I am talking about the ever famous and renowned: Aloe Vera gel.
Aloe Vera can be used to treat sunburns, eczema, wounds, dark spots and acne.
The ancient Egyptians used to refer to Aloe Vera plant as the ” Plant of Immortality”. The plant has a clear opaque gel wrapped in its green leaves. The gel contains two hormones (Auxin and Gibberellins) which hold the anti-inflammatory attributes which help to reduce skin complications.
I have a plant in my yard, therefore it was not a tedious task to get access to Aloe Vera plant or gel. Here is m
y application routine. Before going to bed, I was my face with a mild face-wash ( I never stick to one face-wash for more than one bottle). Afterwards, I pat dry my face with tissue paper and extract the Aloe Vera gel from the plant and rub it on my face thoroughly. After rubbing for a few minutes I use my fingers to massage the gel on my face and leave it on. Now you have to wait for the gel to dry up before lying on your bed else it might get a bit messy. I leave it on for the night and wash it the next morning with a face wash.
It has been a fortnight since I started this and I have never been happier. The acne is disappearing and so are the hideous dark spots. My skin isn’t oozing out oil like it used to before, either. However, if you are willing to try this remedy, do remember, it is a natural remedy, so the results may differ from person to person. For some the result might appear in a week, for others, it can take as long as a month or more. One rule to follow with natural remedies is patience. If you want instant results, you can go to a dermatologist and spend thousands of rupees but if you want a long-term solution, aloe vera and patience are the two elements you need.
Also, I would prefer using the organic-home grown- Aloe Vera gel, but if it is hard for you to get your hands on that you can also buy from any drug store. Oriflame Cosmetics have a wide range of Aloe-Vera gel products- including face toner, cleansing gel, gel cream and eye cream- which many of my close peers are fond of and use on a regular basis. These products are easily accessible and can even be bought online.
If you have tried it or have any queries, don’t hesitate to hit me up in the comments section.
May the skin-odds be ever in your favour!
