Makkah is the nucleus of the Islamic world. It can be perfectly portrayed as the capital of Islam. Makkah is the birthplace of our beloved Prophet Muhammad PBUH and Islam was founded in this very city. This urban area is the place where our father Ibrahim AS came with his family and later built the most sanctified of places in the world, Holy Kaabah. Every Muslim is religiously and emotionally attached to Makkah.

Grand Mosque Haraam
The largest mosque in the world surrounding holiest place of Islam, Kaabah is Masjid Al-Haraam. It also has Muqaam Ibrahim, Black Stone, Safa-Marwa and Zamzam well. Visiting this majestic beauty is an amazing and unparalleled spiritual experience especially during Hajj when the sight of this mosque is breathtaking.
230 feet high hill located in the plain of Arafat towards the east of Makkah is Mount Arafat. Our beloved Prophet Muhammad PBUH delivered the historic last sermon of Hajj on this hill. Every year thousands of pilgrims spend 9th Zilhijjah praying and supplicating here.
The place where Holy Prophet Muhammad PBUH received first divine revelation is Jabal Noor which is situated around three miles from Makkah. Inside this mountain, Cave Hira is situated where beloved Prophet Muhammad PBUH used to retire in solitude worshipping Allah SWT. This cave is about 12 feet in length and 5 feet three inches wide. It takes around 600 steps to reach Cave Hira.
This rocky and barren mountain lie south of Makkah which contains Thour cave. The significance of this cave is due to the incident in which Prophet Muhammad PBUH and Abu Bakr Siddique hid from Quraysh tribe and spent three days here. By the will of Allah SWT, a dove created a nest and laid eggs on cave’s entrance. Muslims considered Thour cave as the sign of faith and hope.
Masjid Tasneem also known as Masjid-e-Ayesha is about 5 miles away from Holy Kaabah situated between Makkah and Madinah. This is a place of Meeqat for those intending for Umrah that is why it is also called Masjid Umrah. This mosque is huge, and it has some luxurious bathing and ablution facilities.
Al Kiswa Factory
Kiswa is the beautifully woven and embroidered black cloth that is draped around Holy Kaabah. Kiswa is fabricated each year in Al Kiswa factory. Dyeing, weaving, designing, printing, embroidering and assembly of Kiswa all takes place in this factory. The factory is located on the old Makkah Jeddah road.
