It’s summer time! But you know what that means, melting makeup, sticky lipstick and smeared eyeliner. But does that stop us from slaying all day even though the temperature is rising? Hell no. But this year, things are going to change because I have some tips for you guys which will make your makeup look beautiful and will stay on all day!
Invest in a good primer. Believe me, you won’t regret this.
Primers are a base for your foundation which makes the product stick to the face and does not allow it to budge. It makes the product go on smoother and last longer. It is applied after moisturising and before putting on the foundation. But make sure you use an oil-free moisturiser, otherwise, it will cause your face to get oily even if the primer you used is pretty expensive. Primers come in all forms. It can be cream, gel or powder. But it actually really depends on how it goes on your face and how it interacts with the foundation you used.
After the application of your sunblock, you may have noticed the “T” zone getting oily and blotchy which is not cute for sure
In order to prevent that from happening. Stop layering the products on your face, instead take your regular sunblock and mix your foundation or BB cream in it to give it a tint! After you are done applying the mixture on your face, set it with a loose powder.
When i say that a bronzer is your life saver for the summer season, I mean it! After you’ve applied your tinted sunblock, lightly brush your face with bronzer. Bronzer makes your eyes look brighter and teeth look whiter. Omg, you did not know about the teeth thing, did you?
Lightly apply it to your cheeks, forehead, chin, and nose where the sun hits naturally and it will give you an iridescent glow.
4- Rose Water
Can I just say this already? Rose water is literally my holy grail, my ride or die!
Rose water is naturally a moisturiser and makeup setting spray. Yes! You don’t have to invest in expensive fixers anymore! A little spritz of rose water before you apply your makeup or even on a beat face, it works both ways. It keeps the face hydrated and it also beautifully melts the makeup into the skin. If after a few hours, your face feels dehydrated, give it a spritz of rose water, and you’re good to go!
Ditch bright colours this summer season and stick to your basic nude or pinkish lip stains.
Lip stains have a good coverage and you can always apply lip balm to give your lips moisture without worrying about the colour travelling throughout the day. If you are still skeptical about the colour moving, gently apply a layer of loose setting powder on top of the lip stain to make it matte!
6- Make your highlight pop!
Okay so, I always use this trick. And I am pretty sure it will come in handy. So you know when your highlight seems a bit dull and you just want it to shine a bit more. Here’s the solution for that, just spritz some rose water onto your brush and then apply your highlighter. It is like using Mac fix plus to make the colour pop more, but let us be real, not everyone has the money to purchase a fix plus, but rose water does the trick too!
7- Stay hydrated and eat clean
This last one may seem boring but let me assure you, no amount of makeup can beat the glow you get on your face when it’s healthy, internally. So drink loads of water and eat clean. You’ll notice the difference in a few days!
